Why You Should Visit Seven Islands State Birding Park in Kodak, Tennessee

We went on an adventure this week to Seven Island State Birding Park which is located about 30 minutes outside of Knoxville, Tennessee. Location: 2809 Kelly Lane, Kodak, Tennessee 37764

I have been there twice now and want to share more about the amazing park it is and why you should visit Seven Islands State Birding Park. They have been hosting a weekly storytime with a ranger for a few weeks now and we decided to check it out. The ranger read two stories that were entertaining and educational so my kids really enjoyed it. Then we took a quick walk down one of the paved paths and listened to the birds chirp. It gives me great joy to take my children on adventures where they can have fun AND learn something new.

A few other thoughts in case you're planning a visit to Knoxville or are a local!

  • They have bathrooms right at the barn entrance-they are very clean and easy to access.

  • There is a fun slide right at the entrance that kids can enjoy as well as a seesaw & fun photo op!

  • There are paved and non-paved trails-there is a path for all ages and stages. You can choose a more difficult hike or opt for one of the paved paths at the park.

  • There are so many birds and creatures to enjoy! We saw a snake, birds and have seen deer in the past.

  • Often they host events for the public and you can find that on their website here.

So if you're looking for a fun outdoor adventure, check it out!
